Biography :

Dr. Don Nguyen is a current resident in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and will do his fellowship training in Abdominal Imaging and Intervention at Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Boston, MA). He attended medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, where he received his MD, and completed an extra year of training to receive his Master in Healthcare Administration (MHA) at the VCU School of Allied Health Professions. He is very academic with several areas of research interest, which includes gynecologic oncology, post treatment radiation changes in cancer patients, and quality improvement in image guided therapy and tumor ablation. He has a multidisciplinary approach and works closely with other subspecialties in cancer research, which resulted in numerous papers and publications in peer-reviewed journals as well as several research awards. In addition, he is a reviewer for international journals and an editorial committee member of leading publishing houses. Dr. Nguyen has presented his research at various national conference meetings including International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy and Society of Interventional Radiology. He is a frequent contributor to the American College of Radiology case of the day and discussion and has published in other reputable journals such as Gynecologic Oncology Reports and the British Journal of Radiology. His work looking at post radiation mimics of malignancy was recently solicited to be published by RadioGraphics. As an avid researcher, Dr. Nguyen’s goals are to continue his career path in academics and contribute more in the field of cancer research and treatment.
