Biography :

Nafbek is a lecturer of Hotel and Tourism at Kotebe Metropolitan University, Ethiopia. In addition to lecturing and advising students, conducting problem-solving researchers and participating in community service projects, he was ahead of Tourism Management Department at his former organization, Madda Walabu University. Besides, he had been a coordinator of researchers and projects carried out by Consortium of Universities and Colleges in Oromia regional state and had become a focal person for ‘Culture, Art and Tourism’ projects at Madda Walabu University. Moreover, he has been chosen to lead the ‘Socio-cultural’ research team and to be a secretary of the ‘The Establishment of Galma Oda Roba Cultural Center’ project that works on the revitalization of the ‘Oromo Gada System, an indigenous democratic system that has been registered by UNESCO as world intangible heritage in 2016. More importantly, he co-founded a program called ‘Cultural Nostalgia’, which is now in transition into research and consultancy center, aiming to use culture as an alternative poverty reduction tool in Ethiopia and Africa and to maximize the positive impacts of tourism on local poor. He authored and co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles.
