Nafbek is a lecturer of Hotel and Tourism at Kotebe Metropolitan University, Ethiopia. In addition to lecturing and advising students, conducting problem-solving researchers and participating in community service projects, he was ahead of Tourism Management Department at his former organization, Madda Walabu University. Besides, he had been a coordinator of researchers and projects carried out by Consortium of Universities and Colleges in Oromia regional state and had become a focal person for ‘Culture, Art and Tourism’ projects at Madda Walabu University. Moreover, he has been chosen to lead the ‘Socio-cultural’ research team and to be a secretary of the ‘The Establishment of Galma Oda Roba Cultural Center’ project that works on the revitalization of the ‘Oromo Gada System, an indigenous democratic system that has been registered by UNESCO as world intangible heritage in 2016. More importantly, he co-founded a program called ‘Cultural Nostalgia’, which is now in transition into research and consultancy center, aiming to use culture as an alternative poverty reduction tool in Ethiopia and Africa and to maximize the positive impacts of tourism on local poor. He authored and co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles.

Born in a remote rural village of Ahsea, Ethiopia, Dr Hiyab Gebretsadik holds PhD in Tourism Management with “Excellent” Dissertation Grade, Master of Business Administration with “Very Good” Thesis Grade and Bachelor of Arts in Tourism Management with Very Great Distinction Academic Honor. He has received Gold Medal from his department for being the top of his class in his undergraduate study in Gondar University. He stunningly topped in his class with highest score in more than 90% of his academic years from elementary school to his PhD. Dr Hiyab Gebretsadik is one of the youngest doctors in the world in his field who successively completed three of his degrees with no gap of year in between and secured his PhD at the age of 28. He is also one of the youngest General Directors of Mega Projects in the world who became one at his age of 28 on the same year of PhD graduation. He formerly served as Lecturer for Adama Science and Technology University Department of Tourism Management, as Training Manager and Data Analyst for Smollan International. He is a visiting professor to Addis Ababa University. Since the first half of 2016, he is serving as the General Director of Entoto and Surrounding Tourist Destination Development Project with 4.8 Billion Birr Project cost extended over 4134.5 hectare mountainous hills of the Entoto Mountain in Addis Ababa. He is the pioneer leader of the project office project from idea inception to setting up the office and changing it to reality. Dr. Hiyab raised above rural life’s turmoil, rejoiced the meaning of victorious endings after obscure beginnings and painted his academic life with inspiring stories of struggles and triumphant. His MBA study, university teaching life, Ecotourism project management experience and collaborated research works with many business consultants have enabled him to own mind stimulating managerial wisdoms and enough of the complexion from both colors of practice and theory.

Paul, a Tanzanian was born on November 24th, 1951, in Dar es Salaam, Kinondoni district, and grew up in Kawe, Kinondoni. Paul was born to Michael Mabere Mugassa and Clara Francis Magambo, and is a father of seven children four girls and three boys. He attended primary school education at Msimbazi Primary school and completed secondary education at Kinondoni secondary school, Dar es Salaam in 1970. Immediately after completing secondary education, Paul joined Tanzania Tourist Corporation and was admitted at Hallmark Hotels (T) training school, Dar es Salaam for a one year’s Front office operations course. Upon graduation, Paul worked in various hotels and lodges owned by Tanzania Tourist Corporation which include; New Africa Hotel, Bahari Beach Hotel in Dar es Salaam, Mikumi wildlife lodge, Lake Manyara Hotel, Ngorongoro Wildlife lodge and Mafia Island lodge. In 1984 Paul received his first scholarship and successfully completed a Diploma course in Hotel Management at the Institute for Hotel and Tourism Management Klessheim, Salzburg, Austria. In 1986, Paul joined Bush trekker Hotels Tanzania and worked in various hotels owned by Tanzania Development Finance Company (TDFL) i.e. Bahari Beach Hotel, Mkonge hotel Tanga, Morogoro Hotel and New Arusha Hotels, in Arusha rising in hotel Management ranks from management trainee to Hotel General Manager.

Today, Paul encourages young people to pursue training in hospitality management. His work life and career in hospitality and tourism industry teaches the young professionals to follow their dreams, no matter how great.

He has also participated and presented research papers in many conferences in India and abroad, such as International Geographical Union (IGU) conferences held at Kyoto, Japan (2013), Krakow, Poland (2014), IGU Moscow, Russia (2015) and IGU Congress in Beijing, China (2016). Recently, United Nations Sixth Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction has invited him to participate in Geneva, Switzerland to be held from 13-17 th May, 2019.

Since obtaining the doctoral degree in 2009, I have developed one single – issue monograph, 54 (34 as a single author and 20 as a co-author) scientific and six industrial publications, 30 of which were in English. Most of my publications presented in the list of published scientific papers or creative professional works relate to the management of service enterprises.
