Biography :

The French scientist Jean-François Picimbon (Chinese Name: Jie Fu) is among the first, if not the very first, high level overseas talent outstanding scientist recruited by China (Shandong Province) after leading research in France, USA, Canada, Japan, Germany, Belgium and Sweden. He is one of the key players in the field of molecular basis of pheromone production and perception (insect olfaction, chemical communication, neurobiology, ecology and evolutionary genetics). He significantly influenced the further development of insect neuroscience by discovery of cockroach, locust, moth and whitefly chemosensory proteins (CSPs) and their interaction with insecticide xenobiotic chemicals. He was also the first reporting on multi-RNA editing capacity of Eukaryotic cells, perhaps providing hope for a new era of therapies for cell and genetic diseases.
