Biography :

Dr. Khairul Matin is a B.D.S. from Dhaka Dental College of Dhaka University (Dhaka, Bangladesh) and a Ph.D. from Niigata University (Niigata, Japan). Currently holds the position of Chief Research & Development Executive at Medoc International Co. Ltd., Tokyo, Japan and working as a Professor at Endowed Department of International Oral Health Science, Tsurumi University, School of Dental Medicine; Research Assistant Professor at Cariology and Operative Dentistry, Department of Restorative Sciences, Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU), Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Khairul Matin has a long record of successfully supervising Ph.D. students and other researchers from all around the world at TMDU (3rd in the world university ranking for the year 2017 in the field of Dentistry) as a Research Associate Professor and so on. Leading a team working on oral biofilms, prevention of caries/ secondary caries, surface properties of composite-resins. In order to maintain the healthy oral environment, he and his team also studied and developed antibacterial agents including ozone, ozone-water, micro-bubble water and super-oxidized waters. He has published articles in journals of various fields including medical journals with good Impact Factor. He has been awarded a good number of research grants including top-level research grants from Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) that include ongoing clinical research projects collaborating with the Department of Translational Research, Tsurumi University, School of Dental Medicine, Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, School of Medicine, TMDU, Cariology and Operative Dentistry, Department of Restorative Sciences, TMDU and Medoc International Co. Ltd., Tokyo. Having the experience of general clinical dentistry Dr. Khairul Matin gives more concentrations in the areas of Preventive and Minimal Intervention Dentistry, Oral Health, Oral Hygiene and Oral implantology in recent years.

Research Interest :

Oral biofilms, prevention of caries/ secondary caries, surface properties of resin-composites, other dental materials (dental adhesives, dental implants, orthodontic appliances) and super-oxidized waters. Oral health, autoimmune diseases, randomized clinical researches on oral and general health; including relationship between oral and intestinal microbiomes.
