Professor Ellakwa is the head of restorative dentistry at Sydney dental school, the University of Sydney. Professor Ellakwa has broad experience in both teaching and research. Dr Mendonca is a Professor at the Rio de Janeiro State University, in the Prosthodontics and Restorative division. Awarded Master in Dental Science in 2012, Professor Mendonca worked in the Laboratory of Applied Biotechnology of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro investigating the mechanical properties of a hydrophilic composite resin. During his PhD course at the Fluminense Federal University in 2015, Professor Mendonca’s research project was awarded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Technology of Brazil a funding to pursue Split Fellowship Program at the University of Sydney. As a researcher at the University of Sydney he worked in the Bioengineering division, investigating the mechanical properties of CAD/CAM restorative materials and working in partnership with several dental companies testing and evaluating the practical application of digital dentistry.

Dr Ola Al-Batayneh, BDs, MDSc, JDB, FRACDS (PAED), is an Associate Professor in Pediatric Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry, Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). I graduated from Edinburgh Dental School in 1977 and gained experience as a Dentist both in general practice, the Armed Forces and Community Dental Services before undertaking an MSc in Periodontology in 1986-1988 at Guy's Dental School London. I subsequently worked at the Eastman Dental Institute for Oral HealthCare Sciences in London (1989-1998) where I was involved in laboratory and clinical research, as well as teaching postgraduate students in Periodontology. On leaving the University environment in 1998 I worked in Industry for several years (1998-2001) initially with SmithKline Beecham (Assistant Director in Oral care), and subsequently with Block Drug Company, Incorporated, USA (Assistant Director in Oral Care). From 2003 to 2008 I worked with a Clinical Research Organisation as a Senior Clinician conducting clinical studies on oral care products. I am currently a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Periodontology at the Bart's and the London Medical and Dental School QMUL in London, UK (2009-). My main interests are in the area of the Management of Dentine Hypersensitivity and I collaborate with Professor Robert Hill in the development of innovative oral care products, for example, novel bioactive glasses, hydroxyapatite toothpastes and mouthwashes for the treatment of various dental conditions. To date I have published over 100 papers and book chapters on a number of dental topics.

He was a clinical associate professor at Seoul National University Gwanak Dental Hospital from 2015 to 2017. Jin Xiao, DDS, PhD is an Assistant Professor at the University of Rochester Medical Center in the Department of Dentistry. She has a background in Dentistry and Microbiology. In addition to her training, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry and General Practice Residency program at the Eastman Institiute for Oral Health and Strong Memorial Hospital, University of Rochester. Dr. Xiao has been leading and participating in several clinical/translational and practice based network studies at the national level, funded by the US National Institute of Health. She has been serving in the Cariology leadership committee of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), and has been working as the scientific program chair of the IADR cariology group oral biofilm research session. Dr. Xiao has published extensively in the top-tier microbiology, oral biology and dental research journals, including PlosPathogen, PlosOne, etc. Additionally, she won first place in the American Association for Dental Research Hatton-Competition Award, which is the most prestigious-competitive award for young investigators conducting dental/oral research in the US/Canada.

During my teaching activities I have been the main lector of subject: “Dental Morphology” and “Material Knowledge”, since 1979-2012 years. In 1994 – 1998 years I have been the director manager of the Stomatological Clinical University and for 1999-2008 period chairwomen of the Dental Prosthetic Section. For 2008 – 2014, I have been chief of Stomatological Department. For 2013-2015 periods, I have been Dean of Dentistry Faculty. I have been member of the “Healthy” Journal (1988-1990). For 1975–1981 years I have managed some studies projects. I have been leader of the 3 master levels and 5 doctorate levels dissertations, writing also 18 reviewers of the different doctorates.
