Biography :

Dr. Sudhir Ranganath is an Assistant Professor at SIT, Tumkur in the Department of Chemical Engineering. He is also the Principal Investigator of the Laboratory for Biomedical Innovations via Engineering and NanoTechnology (Bio-INvENT Lab) at SIT. He was an IUSSTF Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences & Technology and Brigham & Women’s Hospital, USA & in Stem and JNCASR, India. He was also a Singapore Biomedical Research Council (BMRC) Research Fellow. He received his B.E in Chemical Engineering from Bangalore University, M.S., & Ph.D., in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Research Interest :

His research interests are at the interface of chemical engineering, nanotechnology, biomaterials, biology and medicine. His research is extramurally funded by BRNS, Govt. of India (Rs. 28 Lakhs) and intramurally by SSES (Rs. 62 Lakhs). He has published over 14 international high impact research articles in the areas of cancer therapy, stem cell biology/bioengineering and drug delivery including Cell Stem Cell, Stem Cell Reports, Scientific Reports, Biomaterials, Pharmaceutical Research, PLoS ONE. He regularly delivers scientific lectures at premier academic institutes. He has also served as a resource person in DST-sponsored INSPIRE programs, National Science Day and loves to motivate students to take up scientific research as a career. He is a member of the Society for Biomaterials, USA, Institute of Engineers India (IE) and a reviewer for Journal of Materials Chemistry B and RSC Advances journal, both published by the Royal Society of Chemistry, London. His awards include “Bharat Vikas Award”, “Certificate of Innovation” from Partners Healthcare, USA, Indo-US Science & Technology Forum (IUSSTF) postdoctoral fellowship, BMRC fellowship Singapore and NUS Research scholarship, Singapore, among others.
