Biography :

Timmerie, certified in radiography, radiation therapy and medical dosimetry, serves as the Director of Clinical Education for the Department of Radiation Sciences at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has serves on a number of University committees, including the PhD Program in Health Related Sciences. She received her doctorate in Public Policy and Administration with a concentration in Health Policy in 2013. As a student, Timmerie participated in an exchange program, perhaps sparking an interest in radiation sciences across the globe. She has traveled and consulted at the University of the West Indies and more recently, presented her research at the ISRRT World Congress in Helsinki, Finland and Seoul, South Korea. She is a member of the ISRRT and serves as a Public Relations volunteer.

Research Interest :

Her research interests include student well-being, dose reduction, and radiation safety. The American Society of Radiologic Technology has granted her multiple grants to pursue these interests. She serves on the Editorial Review Board for the journal Radiation Therapist, and is a reviewer for the Journal of Health Disparities.
