He was born in Erzurum in 1953, during the eastern military service of his officer-father. He had his primary & early secondary education in Istanbul & Eastern Thrace . As an outstanding student of his junior high school, he was chosen by the board of teachers as a candidate for a full scholarship at Robert College Lycée Division, where he had a preparatory year & three high-school years. In 1976 he graduated from Boğaziçi University with a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering. He changed a number of jobs like chemistry teacher position at secondary schools, engineering in state-owned chemical plants, academic work at the Legal Medicine Chair of Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine, forensic assistanship & head assistanship at the Central Criminalistic Laboratory of Turkish Police Force & eventually instructor of Republican History, Sociology & Derivatives of Sociology at various Turkish universities.(Following the booth-camp / basic training, he was chosen as a chemistry-instructor with the military rank of sub-lieutenant the Turkish Air Force College, during his compulsory service of one & a half years). He owns an MBA degree in Organizational Behavior from Marmara University (1992); a total of four Ph.D. degrees (two of which are in Sociology). He is married and has no children. He reads, writes & speaks English; he reads French & German.He published a number of articles and digital books.
