I,Dr Vijayakumar did my MBBS in Madras Medical College (MMC)which is one of the oldest and finest institutes in our country. I had been taught about basic clinical examination by pioneers in Internal medicine and Surgery. I had successfully completed my internship in Government general hospital, Madras medical College, Chennai in 2008. Fortunately, I got the opportunity to do my MS general surgery in JIPMERInstitution of National Importance under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. During MS training period, I was exposed to bedside clinics, quality patient care, various surgical skills, authentic scientific research and teaching methods for undergraduates. I had obtained good training under guidance of JIPMER’s esteemed professors. I passed M.S in 2014 in first attempt. I also had the privilege of completing three years of Seniorresidency inJIPMER.Currently as Assistant Professor, I am actively involved in patient care and teaching undergraduate/postgraduate students/paramedical students.

During my post-graduation and senior residency, I was actively involved in research activities.I have been constantly involved and voluntarily taken up research activities throughout. I have competent scientific writing skills and familiarity with the publication processes. I have actively participated training courses from division of research JIPMER (Workshop on Book Writing & Meet the Publishers and Art of Scientific Writing).I have presented various papers in zonal, National level and International conferences. I have presented my PG dissertation in BREAST ONCOLOGY 14, Cochin (International conference on multidisciplinary management of breast cancers) and also published in PubMed indexedjournal. During my senior resident period, I have done studies regarding Day care surgery and Role of C reactive protein in RIF pain, both got best paper awardsin nationallevel conferences.
