Open Access

SciTech Central - Open Access Journals is a publishing model that provides immediate, worldwide, barrier-free access to the total text of research articles without requiring a subscription to the journal in which these articles are published.

In this model, the publication prices are sometimes covered by the author’s institution or research funds. These Open Access charges replace subscription charges and permit the publishers to create the published material freely offered to all interested online readers. At a similar time, authors who publish in Open Access journals retain the copyright of their article.

Open Access journals are not totally different from traditional subscription-based journals; other than their cost-recovery model, they undergo constant peer-review and quality control as a result of the various academic journal. Moreover, Open Access permits for maximum visibility, uptake and use of the published material.
