Biography :

Author of 350 publications all in international magazines deposited. These also include many chapters on invitation appeared in both books and magazines, listed below. The main findings of the research covered many aspects of the biology of teleostei tegument, neurocytology of the tasty epiphany of amphibians. They are now largely directed to the study the autonomic nervous system of the gills and the heart of primitive fish, and teleostea, of Merkel's cells in the Anurian and Apodi amphibians, and pre-post ganglion neurons and the apoptosis of the Anfibi Apodi skin glands, with microscopic imaging techniques confocal with observations conducted both to SEM and TEM.

Research Interest :

A sympathetic and parasympathetic airway study of the airways and the cardiovascular system of the teleosteas with particular regard to the neuroepithelial glands of the gills and their expression of nitric oxide - a neurotransmitter that modulates the respiration process - and intracardiac neurons (ICNs) and related effectors (pacemakers). The pacemaker study in fish is still unclear. The attempt is to characterize and define the neuronal circuits associated with it, and employ specific antibodies aimed at defining the epitope of the channel proteins (HCNs) of the cardiac conduction tissue alongside the gene expression of the various proteins. SEM-TEM and confocal immunofluorescence of Lepisosteus oculatus lung collagen in Coll. With Prof. Jose Icardo (University of Santander, Spain) Confocal immunohistochemistry of the subcutaneous neurons and the recognition of glutinous Myxine Skin Slime Glands 2. With Douglas Fudge, Timothy Winegard, Department of Integrative Biology, University of Guelph, Canada Characterization of G-alpha proteins and ultrastructure of olfactory mucosal neurons of Periophthalmus barbarus and Polypterus senegalus. In Coll with Krystyna Zuwala, Michal Kuciel, Dept. of Comparative Anatomy, Jagellonian University, Cracow, Poland Confocal microscopic imaging of sympathetic preganglias and postganglion neurons and of the innervation of the skin glands in the skin of the amphibian apode Typhlonectes compressicauda. In coll with Krystyna Zuwala, M Kuciel, Karolina Agata Budzik, Dept of Comparative Anatomy, Jagellonian University, Cracow, Poland Imaging to the confocal system of the enteric nervous system and its evolution in primitive fish and teleosteas. Gene Expression and immunolocalization of pacemaker proteins in the heart of the cod, Gadus morhua Immunolocalization of neuroepithelial oxygen-sensitive cells (NECs) in the gill of teleosts and the air-breathing organs in fishes
