Biography :

He has a Degree in Philosophy and History of Science, Sapienza University of Rome. Psychoneuroendocrinoimmunology scholar, who currently teaches in post-graduate courses, including "Psychoneuroendocrinoimmunology and science of integrated care" University of L'Aquila Italy, which is a member of the Scientific Board, and "Integrative Medicine" of the University of Siena, Italy. He founded the Italian Society of Psychoneuroendocrinoimmunology (SIPNEI), of which he was the first president (2000-2005), and of which he is currently honorary president. He collaborates with the Institute of the Italian encyclopedia "Giovanni Treccani" for the areas of Medicine and Psychology, and with the newspaper "La Repubblica" to the pages of Health. He has published numerous books in Italian, 12 of which are currently available (www.amazon.it). Some of his books have received editions in French and Greek. The book of dr. Bottaccioli, Psiconeuroendocrinoimmunologia2, Milano 2005, is textbook in degree courses in Psychology of some Italian universities, including L' Aquila and Padua. Recently he published: Bottaccioli et al. (2014) Brief training of psychoneuroendocrinoimmunology-based meditation (pneimed) reduces stress symptom ratings and improves control on salivary cortisol secretion under basal and stimulated conditions, Explore 10:170-179. Lecturer to many scientific conferences, scientific director relevant events, including the International Congress of Psychoneuroendocrinoimmunology, Stress and Life, Orvieto, Italy, October 2011, which was attended, among others, Hugo Besedovsky, George Chrousos, Rainer H. Straub, Edzard Ernst, Stan Maes, Maurizio Cutolo, Claudio Franceschi, Fabrizio Benedetti. He is a member of International Scientific Society as New York Academy of Sciences, American Psychosomatic Society, and International Society for Neuroimmunomodulation
