• At SINP, India: theoretical studies on DNA-melting • At Biochemistry Department, Johns Hopkins Univ., Baltimore, USA: Cloning and sequencing of E. coli repair genes. • At Microbiology and Immunology, Duke University Medical Centre, Durham,NC,USA: Molecular cloning of different prokaryotic systems: identification and analysis of clones using transfer and hybridization methods; site-specific and region specific mutagenesis; prokaryotic expression systems; DNA-protein interaction characterization using topoisomerase II catalyzed knotting, cantenation assay, chemical and enzymatic footprinting techniques, photoaffinity labeling of specific DNA-binding proteins, protein purification using different columns and HPLC techniques; genetic techniques to insert various markers of interest into E. coli chromosomes, etc.

My research interest includes DNA Replication of extrachromosomal elements, RNAi, Plant virology, transgenic plants.
