Biography :

Dr. Marium Fatima specializes in law of armed conflict, human rights and international law and acquired an inter-disciplinary doctoral degree in Peace and Conflict studies. Dr. Marium is currently teaching law of armed conflict and International Law at National Defense University, Islamabad. Dr. Marium has been an academic fellow at The Hague Academy of International Law Netherlands. She has also been a fellow at the European Peace University at Stadtschlaining Austria. She was also a fellow at School of International Law, Pantheon Assas Universite Paris II.She was an academic Fellow at the Siracusa International Institute for Criminal Justice and Human Rights, Italy. Since 2007, she has volunteered her services to human rights NGO, The Pakistan International Human Rights Organisation for the rights of women and children. She has worked in the war-stricken FATA areas of Pakistan and participated in the peace process for tribal areas. Fatima also practiced professionally as a lawyer and served as a legal advisor for the Ministry of Finance since 2011. Her prime research interest is law of armed conflict and human rights law and she has carried out extensive research on human rights and peace studies.
