Biography :

Dr Manisha Khandait is an MBBS. MD (Microbiology) & alumnus of the prestigious Government Medical College Nagpur, India and has more than 23 years of experience in Diagnostic & academic Medical Microbiology and Infection control having excelled in her academic career with international & national publications and best teacher award. Presently working a s a Professor & head department of Microbiology & Lab director of Central laboratory at SGT medical college, hospital and research centre. She has been pivotal in setting up the many diagnostic labs with state of art technology & stringent quality control.  Dr Manisha has 20 years of experience in handling hospital Infection Control as an Infection control officer and did extensive work towards antibiotic stewardship program. She is an Assessor for NABL (National Accreditation Board for Medical Laboratories)., NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers). Worked extensively on HIV & STD projects in high risk population all over India and HIV drug resistance with national AIDS control organization (NACO), Delhi and National AIDS Research Institute (NARI), Pune. Awarded with HIV Medicine fellowship from STIRC university, Sydney in 2010. She is trained in hospital and health management (PGDHHM) from IGNOU. Life member of IAMM (Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists), Hospital infection society of India (HISI), Quality council of India, Consortium of Accredited Healthcare organization, Asian society for Quality in healthcare (ASQA).

Research Interest :

Her key areas of interest and passion are antimicrobial stewardship, device-associated infection rates, healthcare worker safety and teaching.
