He received his MD degree from Osaka University in 2002. He received his PhD degree in visual optics from Graduate School of Medicine of Osaka University. He also trained in oculoplastic, orbital and lacrimal surgery at Aichi Medical University. He has the following memberships: Asia Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Japanese Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Japanese Ophthalmological Society, The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
