Prof. V.P.Sharma is serving as Senior Principal Scientist, Head, Quality Assurance & Professor Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research [AcSIR] at CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow. He has experience of approx 34 years and is Fellow of Academy of Environmental Biology, India and member of other prestigious National/ International societies of repute. He has experience related to areas of great relevance in modern context viz water quality monitoring, safety evaluation of industrial chemicals, polymers, quality management, dissemination of scientific knowledge on environmental aspects etc. His area of expertise is Regulatory Toxicology. Since 1987 he is at CSIR-IITR and has significantly contributed in significant areas viz Polymer toxicology, Water quality monitoring and management, quality management system [QMS] assurance under National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration of Laboratories [NABL] as per ISO 17025:2005, ISO 9000, ISO 22000 and Good Laboratory Practices [GLP] in accordance to Organization for Economic Cooperation & Development [OECD].

His contributions in societal mission programmes viz Super cyclone in Orissa, etc and outreach activities are significant and brought laurels to CSIR-IITR. He has teaching and R & D experience and is well known for his communication skills and interaction with children’s for motivation, leadership training programs beside R&D work of CSIR niche areas related to environment and toxicological aspects. He has delivered several invited talks at IITs/ IIMs, Universities etc. He has contributed as a member for organizing India International Science Festival [IISF] under CSIR activities in collaborations with other partners. He has received recognition for outstanding contribution as Expert in North East Student Conclave during IISF.
