Biography : Dr. Somia Tawfik, professor of Audio vestibular medicine, college of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. The main area of interest is auditory processing disorders where she developed diagnostic test materials and intervention programs in Arabic language with a team in audiology unit, Ain Shams university. She has more than 50 publications in local and international journals that are mainly related to auditory processing disorders in children and adults. Currently, she is a member of the audiology committee of international association of logopedics and phoniatrics (IALP), the International Association of Physicians in Audiology (IAPA) , the Egyptian Audio-Vestibular Medicine Association (EAVMA)and the Egyptian Society of Oto-rhino-laryngology. She is the editor of the Egyptian Journal of Ear, Nose and Throat and Allied Sciences (EJANAS). She is a member of the Egyptian University Higher Board committee for promotion of professors in otology, audiology and phoniatrics since September, 2016.The current research is focusing on new horizons in diagnosis and management of auditory processing disorders in special population. She presented a miniseminar on auditory processing disorders in IALP meetings in 2013 & 2016. She moderated three workshops on APD: diagnostic approaches and intervention plans in Kuwait, 2016 ,Moracco, 2017 & Jordan,2018 |
