Dr. Dmitry Goldgaber is Professor of Psychiatry and Molecular Biology at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science in School of Medicine at Stony Brook University in New York. He received his Master of Science in physics from Leningrad Polytechnic Institute. He received his Ph.D. and Doctor of Science in Molecular Biology from Moscow State University. After eight years at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland he joined the Department of Psychiatry at Stony Brook University and focused his research on Alzheimer's disease, Down syndrome, Creutzfeldt-Jakob and other neurodegenerative diseases. He has published over 90 papers.
