Biography :

Dr. Bijoyaa Mohapatra is an Assistant Professor in Communication Disorders at the New Mexico State University. She received her PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Georgia in 2016. Earlier, she completed her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from University of Mysore, India in 2010 and Bachelor’s degree in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology from University of Calcutta, India in 2008. She also holds the Interdisciplinary Graduate Certificate in University Teaching. Her current research interest includes psychophysiological measurement of cognitive behavior, biofeedback training, and complementary-alternative practices in rehabilitation of adults with communication disorders following acquired brain injury. She has disseminated research findings through journal publications and conference presentations.

Research Interest :

• Exploring cognitive, communicative, and affective processes in aphasia and healthy aging • Investigating psychophysiological concomitants of cognitive functioning in healthy and adult neurogenic communication disorders, and the efficacy of biofeedback training in these population • Exploring complementary and alternative treatment practices for adults with communication disorders following acquired brain injury
