Dr. Sia is a graduate of both Dentistry and Medicine and holds the position as the Chairman of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Gullas Medical Center – University of the Visayas and a Consultant in Oral-Maxillofacial and Implant Surgery at St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City, University of Cebu Medical Center, Chong Hua Hospital Group and Cancer Center, and the Craniofacial Foundation of the Philippines. Currently, he holds the position as Vice President of the Philippine Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of the Department of Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine at Cebu Doctors’ University. He was appointed as the International Relations Officer for the Philippines of the Young Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Group of Hong Kong and the editor-in-chief of the EMS Otolaryngology Journal; an honorary editorial board member of various journals in Otolaryngology, Surgery, Dentistry & Oral Health Journal, Oral Biology, Biomedical Research, and Integrated Medical and Clinical Case Reports.

Research interest includes Regenerative and Reconstruction techniques in Maxillofacial region, Bone Grafting, Biomaterials and Growth Factors, Orthognathic Surgery, Cleft Surgery, Pharmacology, and Quality of life in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery patients
