Dr. Patrick Tso received his Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Western Australia in 1978. He is a Professor of Pathology at University of Cincinnati and Director of the NIH funded Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Center at UC. He is a well-respected researcher in the area of lipid and energy metabolism. The techniques his lab employs consist of conscious intestinal lymph fistula rats, lymph fistula mouse, intestinal epithelial cell culture, and molecular biology. His lab is currently studying the factors regulating the synthesis and secretion of apolipoproteins, including apo AI, apo AIV, apo B, apo CIII, and Apo AV. The University of Cincinnati Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Center, directed by Dr. Tso, is providing the scientific community with standardized, high quality metabolic and physiologic phenotyping services for mouse models of diabetes, diabetic complications, obesity and related disorders. He has authored nearly 250 publications and has received the Daniel Drake Medal Award for his contribution to scientific research and mentoring. Dr. Hamdy Ahmad Sliem, currently serving as full professor of internal medicine and endocrinology in the school of medicine, Suez Canal University. Received MD degree from the college of medicine in 1994. Have over three decades experience in the management of diabetes, endocrinal disorders and evaluation of health status of those patients with chronic complications. My current research interests are at the intersection of pharmacology and neuroscience, and focus on understanding how chemical molecules interact with biological systems in the molecular level. Dr. Nonogaki has worked as a Postdoc Research Fellow at the University of California, San Francisco and the Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla. He has studied central serotonin network in the regulation of appetite and energy homeostasis. Lorcaserin (Belviq), a selective 5-HT2C receptor agonist, which is used for the treatment of obesity, is based on the original research works by Dr. Nonogaki et al. Current studies are to determine the physiological mechanisms and potential treatment for obesity, type 2 diabetes and their complications. Dr. Nonogaki is also developing novel medical devices for hypertension and diabetes.

Holds MD degree from the Ukrainian National Medical University named after O.O.Bogomolets (Kyiv, Ukraine); passed an observership at the Department of Internal Medicine at the General Hospital of Salzburg, a program of the Open Medical Institute (OMI) by The American Austrian Foundation (Salzburg, Austria). Dr Lontchi Yimagou, is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Diabetes Research Center at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His interests are clinical metabolic research of diabetes physiology and glucose clamp methodology. He has been actively involved in projects related to the epidemiology and pathophysiology of diabetes for the past 8 years, both at national and international levels. His current work relates to the potential approach to impact the pathogenesis of hypoglycemia associated autonomic failure that will restore life-sustaining responses to hypoglycemia in patients with type 1 diabetes. He has also evaluated the Changing Diabetes in Children Project in Cameroon. He has traveled to CMC Vellore, India in the past year to oversee our research delineating the pathogenesis of malnutrition diabetes.
