Dr. Somayeh Farhang Dehghan joins Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Health in the School of Public Health. She received her B.S. in Occupational Health from Iran University of Medical Sciences and her M.S. and Ph.D. from the Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Her teaching interests include training air pollution control, fluid mechanics , industrial ventilation, gases and aerosols dynamics, and evaluation of an air sampling.

Her research interests are in the field of occupational health, industrial hygiene, air pollution, air filtration, nanofibers, occupational exposure, risk assessment, biomarkers.

Since 2006, she has been engaged in scientific work in the field of psychology of shift work in the Far North and the Arctic. In 2012 she successfully defended her thesis on "Adaptation Strategies in Professional Work of the Rotational Method in the Far North" at the Lomonosov Moscow State University. Currently, she continues her work in the preparation of a doctoral dissertation on the management of psychological risks for shift workers in the Far North and the Arctic. In 2013-2016 she was an expert in the development of the international standard ISO 35101: 2017 "Petroleum and natural gas industries - Arctic operations - Working environment" (Subcommittee ISO TC67 / SC8 "Arctic operations"). She is the author of 179 scientific and educational works, 43 of them in leading peer-reviewed Russian journals, 3 in journals indexed in the Web of Science, 12 in publications indexed in Scopus, 1 monograph, 3 chapters in monographs, 3 textbooks, 23 works in English.

I have extensive experience in scientific expeditions to the oil and gas fields in the Arctic. As part of my PhD thesis she compared the adaptation strategies of oil and gas workers from workers in other industries. I am currently developing psychological risks of oil and gas personnel, ie what workers are a more effective, safe and reliable work, while maintaining their level of health. Develop measures to improve the efficiency, quality of life and longevity of oil and gas staff. These issues will be devoted to her report on the conference. Also I am an expert of the international working group No 1 "Working environment" ISO / TC67 / SC8 "Arctic operations". The second direction of research on this topic was to examine the sensitivity of meteorological and meteopathic reactions in young people living in the Far North in climate change conditions. It was surveyed over 200 students in higher and secondary educational institutions. There are established youth at risk group for the development of meteopatic reactions to climate change. All three areas of research carried out on an interdisciplinary level, in conjunction with experts in the field of medicine, epidemiology, climatology. The second and third lines of investigations carried out in a project of the WHO, "The impact of climate change on human health assessment of the possibility of adaptation to the north of the Russian Federation" (2010-2012).

She was born on November 9, 1969 in the city of Novosibirsk (father - military, mother - doctor). In 1986 she graduated from high school in Arkhangelsk. In 1992 she received a diploma in mathematics, physics and informatics from the Pomeranian State University; in 1995 received a diploma in practical psychology. In 1996 she defended her Ph.D. in Biology "Psychological aspects of life support for workers of oil and gas prospecting expeditions in the extreme conditions of the Arctic Circle". From 1995 to 2000 she worked as a teacher at the Department of Psychology at the Arkhangelsk Regional Institute of Retraining and Advanced Training of Educators; from 2001 to 2009 she worked as an assosiate professor at the Psychology Department of Pomor State University, and since 2009 she headed this department. In 2011, MSU defended her doctoral dissertation in the field of psychology "Psychological analysis of professional activities of specialists of the oil-producing complex: the example of shift work in the Far North." From 2016 to the present time he works as a professor at the Psychology Department at the Northern (Arctic) Federal University. She is the head and the executor of grants of the Russian humanitarian scientific fund, the expert of the Russian scientific fund, a member of the Russian psychological society, a member of a society of engineers-oil workers (SPE). Head of the thematic network "Work in the Arctic" at the University of the Arctic. Took part in the development of ISO standard "Arctic operations". She currently works as Vice Dean of Students’ Affairs in College of Applied Medical Sciences– University of Hafr Al-Batin (UHB), Saudi Arabia. She has more than twenty years of experiences in academic field of nursing. Her primary area of expertise is nursing administration and education. She has been published many researches including; personal preference and perceived barriers toward disclosure and report of incident errors, nurses' experiences toward perception of medication administration errors, role strain of undergraduate male nurse students, first-career and second-career nurses’ experiences of stress, presenteeism and burn-out during transition to practice, and experiences of Saudi female students towards the phenomena of bullying behaviors.
