Dr. G. S. Shekhawat completed his PhD from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur and since then continuously engaged in research; initially started as a CSIR Post doc fellow and after completion of this project, he received BOYSCAST fellowship and worked at University of South Florida Tampa, USA. Dr Shekhawat has also been awarded by INSA International Exchange Fellowship wherein he worked on stress biology at Russian Academy of Science, Moscow, Russia and received Young Research Award from the Academy of Innovative Research and Professor YS Murthy Gold medal award by Indian Botanical society for his contribution in plant Biotechnology in 2016. Dr. Shekhawat has also completed several research projects funded by different agencies like UGC, SERB-DST Delhi, CSIR, DRDO and DST-Raj. He has active international research collaboration with School of Biological Sciences, University of Southampton, UK.

Presently Dr. Gyan Singh Shekhawat is working on Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), Nitric oxide (NO) signaling and their role in plants.
