Biography :

I (Dr Sobia Manzoor) earned my PhD with specialization in Molecular Virology in February 2011 from CEMB, University of The Punjab Lahore, Pakistan. I joined NCVI, Pakistan (NUST centre of Virology and Immunology) for Postdoctoral studies from June 2010 to 20th September, 2011. Since 21st September, 2011 to date now, I am the Group leader of Molecular Virology Research Laboratories at ASAB, NUST Islamabad, Pakistan. My research group is one of the major research groups to conduct studies on viral hepatitis in the country. I am supervising a team of researchers to study the various aspects of hepatitis viruses. I have successfully supervised 04 PhD, 23 M.Phil and 07 UG research scholars from June 2010 to date now. Presently I am supervising 02 UG, 05 MS and 03 PhD research scholars. My contribution in Molecular Biology especially Molecular Virology has been recognized at home and abroad and my research work has been published in 50 peer reviewed research papers in International scientific journals with an overall impact factor 105 and of citations 350+. I have edited a special issue of peer reviewed International journal “Mycology and Virology” in the capacity of guest editor. I have been awarded “PAMS-Young Scientist Gold Medal Award, 2015” a national prestigious award by Pakistan Academy of Medical Sciences for remarkable performance and contribution in the field of Medical and health sciences. I have been successfully completed research grant entitled “PAK-US HCV Management in Pakistan” in the capacity of P.I. The subject research grant was of worth 3.6 M PKR and transferred to me by HEC, Pakistan on 19-08-2013.

Research Interest :
