Dr. Mithilesh did her post graduation in Botany from Banaras Hindu University and PhD in Biotechnology from Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. She is currently working as Scientist In Charge & Scientist C at G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment and Sustainable Development, Sikkim Regional Centre. She has over 10 year research experience in plant tissue culture and secondary metabolite production. She has coordinated several stakeholder workshops, training programme and principle investigator of many national and international projects. She is the reviewer of number of national and international journals and publishes 19 research papers, 7 book chapters, many technical/popular articles/ conference proceedings/booklets and made 21 conference presentations.

She specializes in the area of plant tissue culture and bioactive compounds analysis. At present she is working on traditional medicinal and wild edible plants for bioactive and nutraceutical compounds.
