Biography :

Ensanya A. Abou Neel is a professor of biomaterials, working at Restorative Dentistry Department, Faculty of Dentistry, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Her scientific interests centre on novel bioactive glasses, biomimetic/synthetic polymers, and degradable/non-degradable composite materials for biomedical and tissue engineering applications.

Research Interest :

 Injectable cements/adhesives composites for bone repair and drug delivery.  Antimicrobial brushite cement for alveolar ridge augmentation.  Novel Purmorphamine bioactivated composite membrane for guided bone regeneration in periodontal repair.  Remineralising – antibacterial dental materials.  Models for remineralisation of defective hard tissues (teeth and bone).  Bioactive phosphate-based glasses/fibers for hard/soft tissue engineering.  Collagen/glass fiber constructs for muscle/tendon/ligament repair.  Three dimensional modeling and finite element analysis of stress distribution at tooth-restoration interface.  Antibacterial denture base and adhesives.  Composites for bone tissue engineering applications.  Emdogain and vital pulp therapy in young permanent dentition.  Flax fibers reinforced, condensable glass ionomer cements.
