Biography :

Jesús Anzano was born on October 23, 1960 in Poleñino, Huesca, SPAIN. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in chemistry from the University of Zaragoza in 1984, 1985 and 1988, respectively. He served as a post doctoral fellow at the University of Florida (Department of Chemistry, Analytical Division, where his research advisor was Professor J.D. Winefordner). In February 1988, he was appointed Assistant Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Zaragoza, (Department of Analytical Chemistry, Science Faculty). In October 1989, he was promoted to Associate Professor in Analytical Chemistry at the , Polytechnic University School of the University of Zaragoza. He is currently Senior Lecturer in Analytical Chemistry at the UZ. His research interests include all techniques based on the interaction of light with matter, principally laser spectroscopy techniques. He has worked on various projects with (for) the Spanish Education and Science Ministry. From 1997 to 2001 he was a regular visitor at the UF working with Prof. James Winefordner on laser induced breakdown spectroscopy. He has published nearly 100 scientific papers in journals of high international prestige and presented posters on the above topics at international and national congresses on analytical chemistry. He has also given seminars for industry. Since coming to the University of Zaragozae he has directed PhD theses at the University of Zaragoza. He worked at University of California, Berkeley with Prof. Stephen R. Leone at Department of Chemistry during summer 2010. From September 2017 is full professor at the Department of Analytical Chemistry, University of Zaragoza and head of Laser Laboratory & Enviroment Group.

His research interests include all techniques based on the interaction of light with matter, principally laser spectroscopy techniques.
