Biography :

Dr. Mukesh Meena is post-doctoral research fellow in Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Science, Hamdard University, New Delhi - 110062, India. His areas of research and work expertise are; plant-microbial interactions, fungal biology, toxic metabolites, plant-pathogen interaction and fungal bio-molecules. He did his M.Sc. (Botany) and Ph.D. (Botany) degree in Department of Botany, Banaras Hindu University. Dr. Meena’s research work is focused on “Physiological and biochemical changes induced in tomato by Alternaria alternata and its phytotoxic metabolites.” Dr. Meena is well versed with culture techniques and taxonomy of fungi as well as various analytical tools relevant to mycopathological research. He is the active member of various scientific societies such as Mycological Society of India (MSI), The Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), The Association of Microbiologists of India (AMI), Asian PGPR Society of Sustainable Agriculture, and The IRED (Institute of Research Engineers and Doctors). He has been honored with several fellowship awards in his career including Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF), UGC Research Fellowship in Science for meritorious students under the RFSMS Scheme. He has been awarded best paper presentation award in the Fourth International Conference on Advances in Applied Science and Environmental Technology – ASET, Bangkok, Thailand in 2016. Dr. Meena has many peer reviewed publications. He has authored of several research articles/books related to isolation and characterization of fungal toxins, applications of fungal glucose oxidase, fungal toxins, production and technological applications of enzymes from microbial sources, beneficial microbes for disease suppression and plant growth promotion.

Research Interest :

Areas of research and work expertise are plant-microbial interactions, fungal biology, toxic metabolites, plant-pathogen interaction and fungal bio-molecules.
