Hairil Rashmizal obtained his bachelor degree in diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He started his career as a therapy radiographer at Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital in Penang before joining the academic team of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Petaling Jaya. In December 2011, he completed his PhD study on the utilization of hybrid PET/CT imaging for diagnosing of non-pulmonary tuberculosis at School of Medical Sciences, RMIT University in Melbourne. Starting January 2015, he has been appointed as head for Department of Medical Imaging, Faculty of Health Sciences, UiTM in Puncak Alam.
