Biography :

MD degree in 1981 and Specialized in Gastroenterology & Endoscopy in 1986 with highest marks. Fellow in gastroenterology at Chicago University in 1982. Registrar in gastroenterology at the GIT Dept, Groote Schuur Hospital, University of Cape-Town, South Africa. Japanese-spoken PhD at the Dept. of Surgery, Hirosaki University, Japan in 1990. Granted a Fellowship by the Japanese Ministry of Science at the National Cancer Center, Tokyo. Molecular biology stage at Welcome-Beecham Labs. of London, UK in 1993 and at GoodGene Lab. in Korea in 2006. Hon. Research Professor at Dept of Nutrition & Food Science, Texas University, USA and External Examiner for PhD candidates at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. Visiting Research prof. in Gastroenterology, Camilo Josè Cela University, Madrid, Spain and visiting professor in gastroenterology, oxidative stress, aging and nutragenomics at major asian universities. For 10 years had directed a research center in Japan and cooperates with Nobel Prize Prof. Luc Montagnier. Advisory Board Panel of the Center for Life Science at Nazarbayev University, Astana, Kazkistan. Editor and board member of over 25 medical journals. Board Certified as Expert in Age-Management Medicine by Cenegenics Medical Institute, Las Vegas, USA. Has received several international prizes, the last being the Genomic Pioneer Award 2009 and Thomas Edison Award-2014 in the domain of Diabetes and Health for Inspiration and Knowledge Distribution (shared with young investigators group). Has co-edited a successful book on aging-intervention and some book chapters on probiotics and vitamins. Co-founder of the research group ReGenera which is working on an innovative model of preventive/regenerative medicine. He has published about 135 papers and presented over 400 communications.
