Biography :

Dr. Alessandro Lupi graduated in Medicine & Surgery with full honours in 1992 at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Rome). In the same year he won the “Ludovico Necchi” prize as Best Medicine Fellow of the Catholic University of Rome for 1991-1992 Academic Course. In 1997 he specialized in Cardiology with full honours at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Rome). From 1999 to 2007 he directed the Cath Lab of the “Umberto Parini” General Hospital of Aosta. From 2007 to 2015 he directed the Cath Lab of the “Maggiore della Carità” University Hospital of Novara. From 2015 he is the Chief of The Cardiology Division of the General Hospital of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola. In his academic career Dr Lupi published 80 peer reviewed articles as well as medical textbook chapters and collaborates with the Editorial boards of several peer reviewed Journals. His current fields of interest are atherosclerosis, thrombosis, acute coronary syndromes, coronary circulation physiology, percutaneous coronary and cardiac interventions (PFO closure, TAVI, EVAR), echocardiography, intracoronary imaging techniques, biomarkers (natriuretic peptides, troponins), biostatistics and computers in cardiology.
