Biography :

Professor In-kyu Lee is a Director of "Research Center for Drug Discovery and Development for Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases" at the Kyungpook National University Hospital, Korea. He received his medical degree from the Kyungpook National University School of Medicine and completed his internship and internal medicine residency training at the Dongsan Medical Center. Between 1995-96, he undertook his Research fellowship in the Joslin Diabetes Center at Harvard Medical School, Boston. Prof. In-kyu Lee is one of the leading experts in the field of Diabetes and Endocrinology in Korea and has been actively involved in Korean medical society. Major research interests include “Regulation of Pyruvate Dehydrogenase activities” and “Complications of Diabetes”. He has received many outstanding awards and has published about 280 papers in the field of Diabetes and Endocrinology.

Research Interest :

My primary research interests are to identify the characteristics in Korean diabetic patients and to do translational research for recognizing the risk factor in development of diabetic complications for patient’s welfare.
