Biography :

Dr. Ying-Fu Chen is a Professor of Surgery, and Graduate Institute of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He has a MD degree from Kaohsiung Medical College, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in 1973, and his PhD degree from Graduate Institute of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University, in 1992. In 1983, Dr Chen was as a clinical fellow at the Heart Institute of Japan, Tokyo Women Medical University. In 1985, he went to Durham, North Carolina, as a research fellow at Duke University Medical Center. In 1992, Dr Chen was appointed as Professor of Surgery at Kaohsiung Medical University. He is also appointed as a Professor of Graduate Institute of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University. His main research interests include inflammation, vascular degeneration, and stem cells in basic studies and thoracic aorta aneurysms/dissections and aortic valve diseases in clinical fields. He has authored over 80 peer-reviewed medical publications and has served as editorships of 2 books, authorships of many book chapters. Currently, He is also as an editorial member of many national and international journals.
