Biography :

I am a college professor and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a private practice that increases individual and group resilience and emotional awareness. I have written grants and been funded for research in the areas of increasing resilience, reducing alcohol use by college students and increasing protective factors for youth. My curriculum, Eye on My Strength (EMS) has been used in multiple public high schools and in private practice with excellent results. I am the author of, "Becoming You; An Owner's Manual for Creating Personal Happiness", which has been adopted for use in two graduate schools. I am also using Becoming You in my private practice to increase personal efficacy and develop skills and strategies to reframe goals in positive and achievable steps. Goals: To engage more in the discussion and development of doctorally prepared nurse practitioners, continue teaching psychiatric nursing, researching and publishing results in peer-reviewed journals and research and providing education and access to therapy for my clients and community.
