Magellan GuewoFokeng is a degree holder from the University of Yaounde 1 where he did his higher studies. He is currently a graduate Assistant, Department of Biochemistry, at the University of Yaounde I; and research associate at the Biotechnology Centre (BTC), Nkolbisson, Yaoundé and also a member of (1) Laboratory of Molecuar Medicine and Metabolism (LMMM) led by Prof. Sobngwi E and Prof. Mbanya JC and (2) Laboratory of Public Health Research Biotechnology (LAPHER-Biotech) led by Prof. Mbacham FW. In these laboratories, he is responsible for the Molecular part and genetics risks of Type 2 diabetes and obesity. He as published in the last two (02) years (2015-2016) six (06) publications in this field including the first Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis on the genetic risk of type 2 diabetes in the populations of the African continent, and over seventeen (17) communications at the National and International conferences.
