Dr. Gloria Fernanda Castro is associate Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at the School of Dentistry in the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She researches in areas of cardiology, oral manifestations of HIV infection, oral microbiology, Candida spp. virulence, HIV-infection in children and Children with systemic and neurologic alterations. She received her DDS degree in 1993 from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (UFRJ, Brazil), her Master Degree in Pediatric Dentistry in 1998 from UFRJ, Brazil and her PhD degree in Biology Sciences (Microbiology and Immunology) from UFRJ, Brazil in 2002. Dr. Castro has published about 40 peer-reviewed papers about Dentistry and HIV-infection in Children and she is a member of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR).
