Biography :

After obtained her degree as Biochesmist at the Univesidad Nacional del Sur, she was biochemist resident since 1989 to 1992, whereas she skilled in infectious diseases (1991 Internship, Virology Departament, Instituto Nacional de Microbiología Malbrán, Argentina, 1992, Internship, Hospital Clinic I Provincial, Barcelona, Spain) In, 1992 she won a regular staff vacancy in the Virology Departament, ANLIS Dr Carlos G Malbrán by contest. Since 2001 at the Virology Department, she has conducted HHV-8 research in Argentina and collaborative studies in blood banks in South American countries, by performing epidemiological investigations, setting molecular methods for clinical cases which involve HHV-8 and evaluating serological tools. Also she has worked on molecular epidemiology of HHV-8. Among her current activities, she coordinates the seminars of the Virology Department, delivers lectures addressing viral infections, directs and evaluates thesis for the Molecular Microbiology Magister and trains residents of Microbiology that annually rotate in the Virology Department. She is member of the Committee on Research and Development of the ANLIS CG Malbrán. As a result of her work she has made more than thirty poster presentations, published journal articles, book chapters and case conferences and evaluates research projects.
