Irshad A. Wani was born and raised in state, Jammu and Kashmir, India. He received his M.Sc in Physical chemistry in the year 2007 and Ph.D in nanochemistry in the year 2012 from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. His Ph.D thesis mainly focused on synthesis of noble metal nanoparticles and their oxides by employing various chemical-biological routes and studying their application in biomedical area. He has been able to publish a good number of research papers in various esteemed international journals and has also authored a no of book chapters. His research work has been cited by a number of sicientific journals. He is a peer reviewer of various international journals and a member of various scientific societies like MRSI, ISCAS, SMC etc. He is also an editorial board member of few international journals. Currently he is working as lecturer in chemistry serving J&K govt. education services. His current research interests include Nanoparticle-Cancer, Nanoparticle-Protein and carbohydrate interactions, conjugation of inorganic nanoparticles with various biologically significant molecules and role of nanoparticles in sensor applications.
