Dr. Carmen Vigo is a Ph.D. recipient in Biochemistry from the University of London, Royal College of Surgeons of England, and BS from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, Spain. She did postdoctoral work in lipid metabolism at the University of British Columbia, Canada, and was later a professor at the University of South Florida, Medical School, where she taught the core course of Biochemistry to postgraduate students and conducted research in cholesterol metabolism. For the last twenty years she continued her research work in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry in California. Her research was focused mainly in Alzheimer, liver, and vascular diseases. She made presentations as guest speaker in numerous national and international conferences. She is the co-inventor of ten issued patents in Alzheimer’s disease and stroke and filed over fifteen others in a broad medical field. She is the author of over one hundred scientific papers published in top peered-reviewed journals, several book chapters, and the Editor-in-Chief and co-author of three CRC books in Membrane Lipid Oxidation. She is the founder of two companies in the Bay Area, California, Atlas Pharmaceuticals and Neurocal.
